The Kąty's slip is the second slipway of the Elbląg Canal, counting from the side of Miłomłyn or the fourth, counting from the side of Elbląg. The Katy's ramp is located at 38 + 700 - 39 + 200 km. waterway of the Elbląg Canal.
 
The Kąty's slip is a typical incline of the Elbląg Canal, i.e. it is driven by a waterwheel, guided in a straight line consistent with the channel's route line. On the slipway between the upper and lower station two parallel tracks are run, on which the trolleys move in opposite directions. The trolleys are connected by a steel rope and are pulled between the upper and the lower position with the use of a jersey. The rope is wound on the drum of the machine, which draws energy from water propulsion.
